Accommodation information

Attendees, including invited speakers, are required to book their own accommodation. There are two main options: hotel rooms and student facilities, see below. Two general guidelines:

• Please book early! Bern is a popular city for tourism.
• When taking a hotel room, consider teaming up with peers! Sharing a double room is considerably cheaper than booking a single room.

A block of hotel rooms have been reserved, bookable via this link. You might also look into B&B's. If you are interested in sharing a double hotel room with someone else, you can find a roommate via this facebook page.

Additionally, a block of 150 rooms have been reserved from the Students' Lodge in their buildings in Berne-Bolligen, Fellergut, and Tscharnergut; see this map for the period July 8-13. In these facilities, you have a private room and share the bathroom with either one other guest (Berne-Bolligen, Fellergut) or three other guests (Tscharnergut). The rent is about 230 CHF for the whole week. This includes bedlinen, towels, wifi, and room cleaning after the week. In addition, you need to pay a 250 CHF deposit, which is returned to you when no damage is done to the room. The buildings are outside the centre of Bern, but within 20 minutes by public transport from the central railway station and within 30 minutes from the conference venue. You should count about 50 CHF for public transport tickets for a week.

Unfortunately, due to another event taking place in Bern the week after our conference, the rooms at the Students' Lodge cannot be reserved until July 14. Departure day is July 13, and check-out is in the morning. If you want to stay at the Students' Lodge, please proceed as follows:

• Book as early as possible, and no later than May 1, 2019. After May 1, there is no guarantee that the rooms will be reserved for SIAM AG 19 participants.
• Fill out this form, choose room category 91 (Berne-Bolligen) as your priority 1, room category 7 (Fellergut) as priority 2, and room category 5 (Tscharnergut) as priority 3, and in the Comments field write "SIAM AG 19".
